CAMPSITE

Campsite on sea ice near James Ross Island

A radio aerial was strung from the ski (centre) to the tent,
where it entered through a hosepipe ventilator at the tip of the pyramid.
Safely separated on their "span", the husky dog team spent their nights in the open.

Basalts of the James Ross Island Volcanic Group (probably erupted intra-glacially)
form the ice-capped mountain in the background.
